Three alleged big-time drug traffickers busted in Antipolo City
LUCENA CITY — Police arrested three alleged big-time drug pushers in a buy-bust operation in Antipolo City, Rizal shortly before midnight on Friday (July 21).
In a report Saturday, the Police Region 4A said anti-narcotics operatives in Antipolo City arrested Benedicto Santos, Laychelle Ikida, and Marciano Perez around 11 p.m. after selling “shabu” (crystal meth) to a poseur buyer in Barangay (village) Dalig.
Authorities seized nine plastic sachets of shabu weighing 20 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P136,000.
Aside from shabu, the operatives also recovered two mobile phones that will be subjected to digital forensic examinations if they have records of drug transactions of the suspects, who are all classified as “high-value” targets in the government’s campaign against illegal drugs.
The police also confiscated a motorcycle believed to have been used by the suspects in their illegal drug trade.
Police were tracking the source of the illegal drugs.
All suspects were detained at the local police jails and are facing charges of violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
