Subway project to boost QC economy, says lawmaker
MANILA, Philippines — Quezon City First District Rep. Juan Carlos “Arjo” Atayde on Tuesday said that the planned Metro Manila Subway Project will help boost the city’s economy upon its completion.
The subway is expected to be operational by 2028. The construction of two more stations kicked off last April 28.
“Quezon City’s economy will continuously progress and grow once this project becomes operational in 2028,” Atayde said in a statement.
Atayde said that commuters can quickly access Quezon City’s business districts, government offices, and private offices.
“It will also help ease the traffic in Metro Manila. So it’s admirable to see the start of this project,” he added.
According to the Department of Transportation, the subway station is expected to connect with the LRT 1, LRT 2, MRT 3 and MRT 7. It is expected to have a capacity of 519,000 passengers.
