Pedestrian dead while crossing Quezon highway

LUCENA CITY––A man died after a passing vehicle hit him along the Maharlika Highway in Sariaya town in Quezon province early Monday.

Sariaya town police reported that Don Llegado, 41, while crossing the highway, was accidentally bumped around 12:30 a.m. by a Lucena-bound van driven by Xedric Reyes, 28, in Barangay Balubal.

Llegado, who suffered grave injuries, died while being taken to the Lucena United Doctors Hospital in neighboring Lucena City.

The police report said Reyes and the victim’s family were willing to settle the matter amicably.
