Palace declares June 24 a special non-working day in Manila
MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang has declared Thursday, June 24, 2021, a special non-working day in Manila City to mark its 450th founding anniversary.
Proclamation No. 1167 was signed on Monday by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Malacañang said the commemoration of the City of Manila must be done with adherence to health and safety protocols.
“It is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Manila be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies, subject to community quarantine, social distancing, and other public health measures,” the proclamation read.
