Pagasa tells Central Luzon, Calabarzon folk: Brace for heavy rain, strong winds
MANILA, Philippines — The state weather bureau advised dwellers in Central Luzon and Calabarzon to prepare for thunderstorms on Tuesday afternoon as Typhoon Falcon (international name: Khanun) continues to enhance the southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat.
Based on its 1:30 p.m. thunderstorm advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds would prevail in Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Batangas.
The thunderstorms, Pagasa noted, may prevail over these areas for around two to three hours.

“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards, which include flash floods and landslides,” the state weather bureau said.

Pagasa said thunderstorms were also experienced in Metro Manila, Pampanga (Lubao, Magalang, and Arayat), Bataan (Dinalupihan, Hermosa, and Orani, Quezon (General Nakar), Rizal (Tanay), Zambales, and Tarlac on Tuesday due to the typhoon-boosted southwest monsoon.
The state weather service said rain may persist in Luzon in the next three days.
