No COVID vaccine wastage due to Karding — DOH
MANILA, Philippines — No COVID-19 vaccines were damaged due to Typhoon Karding, the Department of Health said on Tuesday.
“Unang una, wala po tayong nasirang bakuna dahil sa bagyo, kay Karding,” said Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire in a regular press briefing.

Vergeire, however, said that some facilities have been partly destroyed.
“Meron po tayong mga nasirang facilities but these damages were just minor,” she said.

“We have a total of 21 facilities which have been partly damaged because of Karding,” she added, saying the DOH has started to coordinate with the local government to fix the minor damages.
“But there was no disruption of services, just to be clear on that,” she added.
Karding left the Philippine area of responsibility on Monday night, according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, killing at least eight people.
