MANILA, Philippines–Classes at all levels in public and private schools and local government offices in Marikina City are suspended on Monday for the opening parade and ceremonies of the 63rd Palarong Pambansa.

Mayor Marcy Teodoro on Saturday said the decision was made to allow Marikina residents to witness the annual sports event.

“We invite everyone to witness and be part of the 63rd Palarong Pambansa, where the City of Marikina is the host city,” Teodoro said.

The 63rd Palarong Pambansa will commence on Monday, July 31,  and will run until August 5. The event will be held at the Marikina Sports Center and will feature athletes from 17 regions across the country.
