Customs intercepts P3.8 M shabu at warehouse

The BOC says it has seized more than P19 billion worth of smuggled goods in Q1 2023

MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) on Tuesday said it intercepted 560 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P3.8 million at a warehouse. on Monday.

In a statement, the BOC said that its operatives, together with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Naia Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (Naia-IADITG), raided the DHL Express Gateway Warehouse on Monday.

The BOC said the contraband was concealed and misdeclared as eyelash sets, electric hair dryers, and e-hairbrushes.

The shipper and consignee are undergoing investigation by PDEA and will face formal complaints for violating Republic Act Nos. 9165 and 10863 or the Customs Modernization Act.
