Drunk motorcycle rider dead in Batangas road crash
LUCENA CITY — A drunk motorcyclist died early Saturday, May 27, after his vehicle crashed into a concrete fence in San Juan town in Batangas province.
Batangas police in a report said that Romano Obligar Jr., 25, was at a drinking spree with friends in their house in Barangay (village) Mabalanoy around 12:45 a.m. but left an hour before the accident happened on board his motorcycle.
Obligar’s motorcycle crashed into a concrete fence of the school in the said village, the report said.
The victim sustained injuries and died while being taken to San Juan District Hospital.
The police are conducting further investigation.
The police did not say if the victim was wearing a crash helmet for protection as mandated under the Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009.
