3 security guards posing as cops arrested for Makati City bar commotion

MANILA, Philippines — Authorities arrested three security guards for posing as police officers and causing trouble in a bar in Makati City, the Southern Police District (SPD) said on Sunday. 

The SPD said the suspects, identified as Renante Sacil, 30; Lino Bartolay, 26; and Richard Bongcras Jr., 35, were collared along Makati Avenue in Barangay Poblacion, on Saturday.

The SPD reported that the suspects approached the bar’s vocalist Jildo Miramis II and requested a song after having a few drinks.

When Miramis told them to wait since there were many pending requests, the suspects reportedly confronted him and claimed they were police officers.

The commotion caused a disturbance at the bar prompting bar manager Erika Alacar to seek the assistance of the Poblacion Police Substation. 

The suspects will be facing complaints of usurpation of authority, alarm and scandal and resistance and disobedience to a person in authority.
