Cessna plane en route to Tuguegarao Airport missing

TUGUEGARAO CITY – A Cessna plane was reported missing  Tuesday afternoon after taking off from Laoag City and failed to reach Tuguegarao Airport, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines and the Office of the Civil Defense here.

The Cessna 152 plane (RPC-8598) was supposed to land at the Tuguegarao airport at 12:30 p.m.  but authorities believed that it was forced to make an emergency landing or crashed near the provinces of Apayao, Abra or Kalinga.

Rogelio Sending Jr., Cagayan Provincial Information Officer, said that on board the aircraft were Capt. Edzel John Lumbao Tabuzo, the pilot, and student pilot  Anshum Rajkumar Konde, an Indian national.

Sending said the plane was last monitored 32 nautical miles away from Alcala, Cagayan.

The aircraft’s  owner, Echo Air International Aviation Academy Inc., has yet to issue a statement.
