Almost P46 million worth of shabu seized in Pasay city
MANILA, Philippines — A parcel containing nearly P46 million worth of suspected crystal methamphetamine or “shabu” was seized in Pasay city on Wednesday.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said its anti-narcotics operatives discovered an inbound parcel labeled as “African Cultura” at Pair-Pags Center in Ninoy Aquino International Airport Complex around 11:30 a.m.
The agency reported approximately 6,750 grams or P45,900,000 worth of shabu were concealed in foil packs of peanuts.
The items came from Johannesburg, South Africa sent by a certain Michael Mobida to a person named Wilbert Dee of E. Rodriguez Senior Avenue, Quezon City.
Assorted fabric placemats, a pillow case, blankets, six pouches of nuts, and three sachets of pumpkin seeds were also found.
The confiscated objects are currently in the custody of PDEA.
