After 4 years, cops arrest man wanted for rape in Digos City

DIGOS CITY, DAVAO DEL SUR — After over four years of hiding, a 44-year-old man wanted for alleged rape fell into the hands of authorities on Thursday, in an anti-drug operations.

According to Lt. Col. Hamlet Lerios, Digos police chief, operatives seized from Sahedain ‘Jamiri’ Diwan, of Chapter-10, Christian Village in Barangay Aplaya here, a small amount of suspected crystal meth contained in a heat-sealed sachet, estimated to value close to P2,000.

Also seized were a caliber .38 pistol loaded with four bullets, a mobile phone, and P390 in cash.

When taken custody, police later learned that Diwan had a standing arrest warrant for rape issued by Judge Carfelita Cadiente-Flores of Digos City Regional Trial Court Branch 61 on May 21, 2019. No bail bond was recommended by the court for his temporary liberty.
