2 NPA rebels yield in Palawan, Oriental Mindoro

CITY OF CALAPAN – Two New People’s Army (NPA) rebels surrendered to authorities on Saturday in Palawan and Oriental Mindoro, police reports said Sunday.

“Ka Ernie/Ivan,” a former member of NPA’s Bienvenido Vallever Command, surrendered at about 1 p.m. with a rifle grenade to authorities at the barangay (village) hall of Caramay in Roxas, Palawan, according to the Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan (Mimaropa) police office.

He is now under the custody of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company.

Another former NPA rebel, “Ka Lynlyn/Zyra”, 45, surrendered with a homemade shotgun, a magazine and a rifle grenade to authorities at the 404th l Batallion Maneuver Company Headquarters Regional Mobile Force Batallion in Barangay (village) Poblacion in Puerto Galera l, Oriental Mindoro at 10 a.m.

“Ka Lynly/Zyra” is from San Teodoro town and a medical officer under the Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee, and Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas.

She is under police custody and will be assisted in the processing of government’s Enhanced Comprehensive and Local Integration Program (E- CLIP).
